Description

Delightful and colorful cookies perfect for celebrating love and joy with family and friends.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Sprinkles and food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cream the butter and sugars together until light and fluffy (about 3-4 minutes).
  2. Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing just until combined.
  4. Refrigerate the dough for about 30 minutes.
  5. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
  6. Scoop the dough into balls and place on parchment-lined baking sheets. Gently press into heart shapes if desired and sprinkle with colored sugar or sprinkles.
  7. Bake for about 10-12 minutes, until edges start to turn golden.
  8. Allow to cool on baking sheets before transferring to a wire rack.
  9. Decorate with icing, sprinkles, or candy as desired.

Notes

For variations, add almond extract or cocoa powder, or try using coconut sugar for a deeper flavor.
