- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 1/2 tsp baking soda

- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup fresh raspberries (or frozen)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
- Combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
- Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy, about 4-5 minutes.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.
- Stir in the buttermilk to the butter mixture.
- Combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients, stirring until just mixed.
- Fold in the fresh raspberries gently.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- Assemble with frosting of choice and top with raspberries.

Ensure all ingredients are at room temperature for best results. Allow the cake to cool completely before frosting to keep the frosting from melting.
