Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 8 oz dark chocolate (70% cocoa or higher)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for cheesecake layer)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (for cheesecake layer)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare a 9×13-inch baking dish by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
  3. Melt the butter and dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl over a double boiler or microwave until smooth.
  4. Mix the melted chocolate mixture with sugar, then let it cool slightly before adding beaten eggs and vanilla extract.
  5. Fold in the flour and cocoa powder until just combined.
  6. Blend cream cheese with sugar and vanilla until smooth for the cheesecake layer.
  7. Pour half of the brownie batter into the pan, dollop cheesecake filling on top, and swirl with remaining brownie batter.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  9. Cool for at least 20 minutes before cutting into squares.

Notes

Serve with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, or drizzle with chocolate or caramel sauce.
