Description

Deliciously rich and fudgy brownies with a crispy top, perfect for family gatherings and sweet moments.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Optional mix-ins: chocolate chips, nuts, or peanut butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a square baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over low heat, then stir in the granulated and brown sugars until combined.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, and then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt and gradually fold it into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. If using mix-ins, fold them in gently.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and swirl in dollops of peanut butter if desired.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  8. Allow the brownies to cool before lifting them out and cutting into squares.

Notes

For best results, use room temperature ingredients and avoid overmixing to keep brownies fudgy.
