Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 package cream cheese or butter for frosting
  • Heart-shaped sprinkles for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with liners.
  2. Cream together your sugar and butter until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour and baking powder.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk.
  6. Spoon the batter into the prepared liners, filling each about two-thirds full.
  7. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Allow the cupcakes to cool completely before frosting them.
