Description

Ingredients

  • 8 oz dark chocolate (70% cacao or higher)
  • 1/2 cup butter (or coconut oil for dairy-free)
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar (or coconut sugar)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8-inch round cake pan or line with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the dark chocolate and butter in a medium saucepan over low heat, stirring frequently. Set aside to cool slightly.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the sugar, salt, and eggs until smooth and slightly frothy. Add vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually fold the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture until fully incorporated.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan, smoothing the top. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the edges are set but the center remains slightly wobbly.
  6. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  7. Dust with powdered sugar before serving and enjoy warm or cold.
