- 8 oz dark chocolate (70% cacao or higher)
- 1/2 cup butter (or coconut oil for dairy-free)
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar (or coconut sugar)
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp salt
- Powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8-inch round cake pan or line with parchment paper.
- Melt the dark chocolate and butter in a medium saucepan over low heat, stirring frequently. Set aside to cool slightly.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the sugar, salt, and eggs until smooth and slightly frothy. Add vanilla extract.
- Gradually fold the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture until fully incorporated.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan, smoothing the top. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the edges are set but the center remains slightly wobbly.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving and enjoy warm or cold.
