Description

A delightful appetizer featuring crispy bacon atop buttery crostini, finished with creamy cheese and fresh herbs.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 slices thick-cut bacon
  • 1 fresh baguette, sliced into ¼-inch rounds
  • 4 oz cream cheese or goat cheese
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup or brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp fresh herbs (thyme or chives)
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Olive oil, for drizzling
  • Salt, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Slice the baguette into ¼-inch thick rounds and arrange them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Drizzle with olive oil and lightly season with salt.
  3. Bake the crostini for about 10-12 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
  4. Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy, about 6-8 minutes. Brush with maple syrup or sprinkle with brown sugar while cooking.
  5. Spread cheese generously over each piece of crostini and top with a piece of bacon.
  6. Garnish with freshly chopped herbs and serve warm.

Notes

For a lighter version, use turkey bacon and whole grain bread. Consider adding mushrooms for extra flavor.
