- 8 slices thick-cut bacon
- 1 fresh baguette, sliced into ¼-inch rounds
- 4 oz cream cheese or goat cheese
- 2 tbsp maple syrup or brown sugar
- 2 tbsp fresh herbs (thyme or chives)
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- Olive oil, for drizzling
- Salt, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Slice the baguette into ¼-inch thick rounds and arrange them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Drizzle with olive oil and lightly season with salt.
- Bake the crostini for about 10-12 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
- Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy, about 6-8 minutes. Brush with maple syrup or sprinkle with brown sugar while cooking.
- Spread cheese generously over each piece of crostini and top with a piece of bacon.
- Garnish with freshly chopped herbs and serve warm.
Notes
For a lighter version, use turkey bacon and whole grain bread. Consider adding mushrooms for extra flavor.
