Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 large egg

- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt

- Wrap the log in plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for at least an hour.
- Once chilled, slice the log into 1/4-inch thick rounds and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are lightly browned.
- Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
For a richer flavor, consider using brown sugar or adding spices like cinnamon or nutmeg for warmth. Don’t forget to taste the dough before baking!
