Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla extract, mixing well.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Chill the dough for at least an hour.
- On a floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thick. Use cookie cutters to create festive shapes.
- Place the cookies on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes or until edges are golden.
- Cool on a wire rack and decorate with icing and sprinkles as desired.
