- 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled

Instructions
- Prepare the Apples: Wash and dry apples thoroughly, and insert a stick into the top of each apple.
- Prepare the Strawberries: Wash and hull the strawberries and let them drain on paper towels.
- Make the Candy Coating: In a saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar and butter. Stir until bubbly and golden brown (5-7 minutes).
- Dip the Apples: Dip each apple in the candy coating, swirl to coat evenly, then place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Add the Strawberries: While coating is warm, press a strawberry onto each candy apple.
- Chill: Cool apples in the refrigerator for 15-30 minutes until the candy coating sets.
- Drizzle and Decorate: Drizzle with melted chocolate or heavy cream and sprinkle with optional toppings.
