- 1 teaspoon baking powder

- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for coating)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together granulated sugar, brown sugar, and egg. Add buttermilk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract and mix until smooth.
- Gradually combine the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and chill the dough in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough and roll in powdered sugar to coat.
- Place the cookie dough balls about two inches apart on the baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes.
- Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
Ensure baking powder and baking soda are fresh for best results. Allow the cookies to cool completely before stacking.
