Description

A comforting and flavorful dish that features tender steak bites slow-cooked in a savory sauce with garlic and mushrooms.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs sirloin or flank steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 8 oz cremini or button mushrooms, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 cup beef or vegetable broth
  • 1 tsp fresh thyme or rosemary
  • 2 carrots, chopped
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for sautéing

Instructions

  1. Cut the steak into bite-sized pieces and season with salt and pepper.
  2. If your crockpot has a sauté function, heat olive oil and sauté the minced garlic until fragrant.
  3. Add the steak bites and mushrooms into the crockpot; pour in the soy sauce and broth, then add chopped vegetables.
  4. Sprinkle fresh herbs on top, cover, and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours until tender.
  5. Adjust seasoning if needed before serving.
  6. For a thicker sauce, stir in a cornstarch slurry 20 minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve over rice, mashed potatoes, or on a fresh baguette. It pairs well with a side salad or roasted vegetables.
