Description
These cookies are a delightful chewy form of warm cocoa, blending rich dark chocolate and subtle sweetness for a nostalgic treat perfect for winter gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour (or gluten-free flour)
- 3/4 cup dark cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter (or coconut oil for dairy-free)
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs (or flax eggs for vegan)
- 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream together the unsalted butter and sugars until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs until fully combined with the butter-sugar blend.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
- Scoop the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, forming rounds.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are set but the centers are soft.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
Notes
Chill the dough for 30 minutes for thicker cookies. Don’t overbake for that gooey center.
