Description

Warm, gooey cookies that capture the essence of hot chocolate with rich chocolate and a hint of cinnamon.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (mix of semi-sweet and white)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat together melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time and mix in the vanilla extract until smooth.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips gently.
  7. Drop cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them two inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are set but the centers are soft.
  9. Let cool briefly on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For extra gooeyness, do not overbake. Allow cookies to cool slightly to maintain their soft centers.
