- 2 lbs ground beef
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 2 large eggs
- 1 medium onion, chopped finely
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley or thyme, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, eggs, onions, Worcestershire sauce, and ketchup. Mix well but avoid overmixing.
- Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in the prepared pan. Spread a thin layer of ketchup on top.
- Bake for 60 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C). Optional: broil for a few minutes for a crustier top.
- Let the meatloaf rest for at least 10 minutes before slicing.
Notes
Feel free to add sautéed mushrooms or bell peppers for extra flavor and moisture. Allow the meatloaf to rest after baking to keep it juicy.
