- 1 ½ cups pecan halves
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup corn syrup (or maple syrup)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 large eggs
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 pie crust (homemade or pre-made)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- If using a homemade crust, roll it out, place it in the pie dish, and prick the bottom with a fork. If using a pre-made crust, thaw it before placing it in the dish.
- Toast the pecans in a skillet over medium heat for 5-7 minutes.
- In a large bowl, whisk together brown sugar, corn syrup, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt.
- Fold in the toasted pecans.
- Pour the pecan filling into the prepared crust.
- Bake for 60 minutes, or until set and slightly puffed.
- Cool for at least two hours before serving.
Notes
For a twist, consider adding a splash of bourbon to the filling. Always keep an eye on the pie while baking to prevent overbaking.
