Ingredients

  • Beef (flank steak or sirloin), thinly sliced
  • Hoisin sauce
  • Soy sauce
  • Noodles (egg or rice noodles)
  • Aromatics (garlic and ginger), freshly minced
  • Vegetables (bell peppers, carrots, and scallions)
  • Sesame oil
  • Fresh herbs (cilantro for garnish, if desired)

Instructions

  1. Start by preparing your ingredients. Thinly slice the beef and chop your veggies.
  2. In a large skillet or wok, heat a tablespoon of sesame oil over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the beef slices and stir-fry until browned, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add a bit more oil if needed, then toss in the garlic and ginger. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Add the vegetables and stir-fry until they are just tender, around 2-4 minutes.
  6. Return the beef to the skillet and mix in the hoisin sauce and soy sauce, stirring well until everything is coated and heated through.
  7. Meanwhile, prepare your noodles according to package instructions. Drain and add to the skillet, tossing everything together to combine. Adjust seasoning to taste.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with fresh cilantro and extra scallions, if desired.

Notes

For a gluten-free option, use rice noodles. You can substitute beef with chicken or tofu, and vegetables can be swapped based on availability.
