Description
A comforting dish featuring tender beef stir-fried with colorful vegetables and noodles, all enveloped in a sweet and savory hoisin sauce.
Ingredients
- Beef (flank steak or sirloin), thinly sliced
- Hoisin sauce
- Soy sauce
- Noodles (egg or rice noodles)
- Aromatics (garlic and ginger), freshly minced
- Vegetables (bell peppers, carrots, and scallions)
- Sesame oil
- Fresh herbs (cilantro for garnish, if desired)
Instructions
- Start by preparing your ingredients. Thinly slice the beef and chop your veggies.
- In a large skillet or wok, heat a tablespoon of sesame oil over medium-high heat.
- Add the beef slices and stir-fry until browned, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add a bit more oil if needed, then toss in the garlic and ginger. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the vegetables and stir-fry until they are just tender, around 2-4 minutes.
- Return the beef to the skillet and mix in the hoisin sauce and soy sauce, stirring well until everything is coated and heated through.
- Meanwhile, prepare your noodles according to package instructions. Drain and add to the skillet, tossing everything together to combine. Adjust seasoning to taste.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh cilantro and extra scallions, if desired.
Notes
For a gluten-free option, use rice noodles. You can substitute beef with chicken or tofu, and vegetables can be swapped based on availability.
