Description

A warm and festive Christmas jam made in a slow cooker, featuring cranberries and citrus with warm spices.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh cranberries
  • 2 oranges, juiced and zested
  • 2 cups granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 package fruit pectin (optional)

Instructions

  1. Rinse cranberries and remove any imperfections. Wash, zest, and juice the oranges.
  2. In a slow cooker, combine cranberries, orange juice, zest, sugar, and spices. Stir gently.
  3. Cover and set the Crockpot on low for 4 to 6 hours, stirring halfway through.
  4. Once thickened, mash with a potato masher or fork to break up larger fruit pieces.
  5. Adjust sweetness with more sugar or lemon juice to taste.
  6. Spoon hot jam into sterilized jars, seal, and let cool to room temperature. Store in the refrigerator.

Notes

For a thicker jam, use fruit pectin, and ensure all ingredients are evenly distributed in the slow cooker. Check for doneness around the 4-hour mark.
