- 4 Bone-in Pork Chops
- 2 Honeycrisp or Granny Smith Apples, sliced
- 1 large Sweet Onion, sliced
- 2 cloves Fresh Garlic, minced
- 1 cup Chicken Broth (or Apple Cider)
- 1 tsp Ground Cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp Nutmeg
- Salt and Pepper to taste
- Fresh Rosemary or Thyme, for garnish
Instructions
- Season the pork chops generously with salt, pepper, and cinnamon.
- In a skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat and sear the pork chops until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- In the crock pot, layer the sliced onions at the bottom, followed by the seared pork chops. Scatter sliced apples over top, followed by minced garlic and herbs.
- Pour chicken broth or apple cider until it covers the bottom of the pot.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 4 hours.
- Once done, remove pork chops and garnish with apple mixture and fresh herbs before serving.
Notes
Browning the meat enhances flavor. Be cautious not to overcook the pork.
