Ingredients

  • 1 pre-made pie crust (graham cracker or Oreo)
  • 1 cup semi-sweet or dark chocolate, chopped
  • 1 cup heavy cream, divided
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Crust: If using a pre-made crust, set it aside. For a homemade crust, crush graham crackers or Oreo cookies, mix with melted butter, press into a pie pan, and bake at 350°F for 8–10 minutes. Let cool completely.
  2. Make the Caramel Sauce: In a saucepan, combine sugar and a bit of water, stirring over medium heat until dissolved. Boil without stirring until deep amber. Remove from heat, whisk in butter and cream until smooth, and set aside to cool.
  3. Prepare the Chocolate Filling: Heat 1 cup of cream in a saucepan until just simmering. Remove from heat and add chocolate, letting sit for a couple of minutes. Stir until smooth.
  4. Combine Layers: Pour a layer of caramel into the cooled crust, then add the chocolate filling. Optionally, swirl more caramel into the chocolate.
  5. Chill the Pie: Refrigerate for at least 4 hours until set.
  6. Finish with Whipped Cream: Before serving, whip remaining cream with sugar and spread over the pie. Drizzle with additional caramel.
  7. Serve and Enjoy: Slice and enjoy the smiles!

Notes

For a dairy-free version, substitute heavy cream with coconut cream. Use high-quality chocolate for the best flavor.
