Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, cubed
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup ground almonds (or almond flour)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix 1 ½ cups flour, ½ cup butter, and ¼ cup sugar until crumbly. Press into a greased 9-inch pie pan.
  3. In another bowl, mix sliced strawberries with ¼ cup sugar, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Let sit for 10 minutes.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine ground almonds, ½ cup flour, ½ cup brown sugar, and a pinch of salt. Cut in ½ cup butter until coarse crumbs form.
  5. Spoon the strawberry filling into the crust and sprinkle the crumble topping evenly.
  6. Bake for 45-50 minutes until the topping is golden brown and juices bubble.
  7. Cool for at least 30 minutes before slicing.

Serve slightly warm or at room temperature, optionally with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
