- 4 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup unsalted butter, cubed
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 1 cup ground almonds (or almond flour)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, mix 1 ½ cups flour, ½ cup butter, and ¼ cup sugar until crumbly. Press into a greased 9-inch pie pan.
- In another bowl, mix sliced strawberries with ¼ cup sugar, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Let sit for 10 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, combine ground almonds, ½ cup flour, ½ cup brown sugar, and a pinch of salt. Cut in ½ cup butter until coarse crumbs form.
- Spoon the strawberry filling into the crust and sprinkle the crumble topping evenly.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes until the topping is golden brown and juices bubble.
- Cool for at least 30 minutes before slicing.
