Description
A delightful coffee-infused twist on the traditional dessert, Mocha Cream Pie combines rich chocolate and cream flavors for a nostalgic family treat.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup brewed coffee
- 4 oz semi-sweet chocolate
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 4 egg yolks
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1 1/2 cups crushed graham crackers
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Mix crushed graham crackers with melted butter and 1 tablespoon of sugar until crumbly. Press the mixture into a pie pan and bake for 10 minutes. Allow it to cool.
- In a saucepan, combine brewed coffee, sugar, and egg yolks over medium heat, whisking continuously until it thickens. Remove from heat and stir in semi-sweet chocolate until melted and smooth.
- Add a dollop of heavy cream to the filling to cool it down before pouring into the crust.
- Let the pie cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
- Whip the remaining heavy cream with a touch of sugar until stiff peaks form. Spread over the chilled pie and garnish as desired.
- Slice and serve, enjoying the smiles around your table.
Notes
Ensure the filling is thoroughly mixed to avoid curdling. Chill the pie covered to maintain flavor.
