- 4 oz German chocolate, chopped
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup pecans, toasted
- 1 cup shredded coconut
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- If making a homemade crust, combine flour, salt, sugar, and cold butter. Mix until crumbly and add ice water until the dough forms. Roll out and chill.
- Melt the German chocolate in a double boiler or microwave, then cool slightly.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together sweetened condensed milk, eggs, cocoa powder, melted chocolate, and a pinch of salt until combined.
- Gently fold in toasted pecans and shredded coconut.
- Pour the filling into the prepared crust.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until the filling is set but slightly jiggles.
- Cool on a wire rack for at least an hour before serving.
Notes
For best texture, chill the pie for a few hours before serving. Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for an extra treat.
