Description

This creamy dip features a delightful blend of cream cheese and tart cranberries, making it a staple at family gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 16 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
  • 1 tbsp fresh thyme or rosemary, chopped
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the cranberries: Rinse fresh cranberries and remove blemished fruit or use frozen cranberries without thawing.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, combine cranberries, sugar, and a splash of water. Cook until berries pop, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese and sour cream. Beat until smooth, then fold in cooked cranberries and herbs.
  5. Transfer the mixture to an oven-safe dish and top with nuts if desired.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden on top.
  7. Serve warm with crackers, toasted bread, or veggie sticks.

Notes

For extra flavor, mix in a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg with the cranberries before heating. Ensure cream cheese is at room temperature for a smoother mix.
