Description

Experience the unique flavor of Traeger Smoked Salmon, infused with aromatic wood flavors and a sweet, savory glaze. Perfect for family gatherings or intimate dinners.


Ingredients

  • 1 fresh salmon fillet (skin-on)
  • Wood pellets (cherry, alder, or mesquite)
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 3 minced garlic cloves
  • 1 teaspoon cracked black pepper
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Optional: Fresh herbs (dill or parsley) and/or a splash of whiskey or bourbon

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, and black pepper. Add whiskey if desired.
  2. Place the salmon fillet in a dish and pour the marinade over it. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
  3. Preheat the Traeger to 225°F for about 15 minutes.
  4. Remove the salmon from the marinade and bring it to room temperature for 30 minutes. Pat dry and place skin-side down on the grill.
  5. Smoke the salmon for 1 to 1.5 hours until it reaches an internal temperature of 145°F. Brush with excess marinade halfway through.
  6. Let it rest for 5-10 minutes before serving. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the top and garnish with fresh herbs if desired.
  7. Slice into portions and enjoy warm!

Notes

Avoid flipping the salmon while smoking for best results. Using fresh ingredients yields the best flavors.
