Description

Delicious cinnamon rolls with a spooky twist, perfect for Halloween gatherings and family fun.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 cup whole milk (lukewarm)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 8 oz cream cheese (for frosting)
  • 2 cups powdered sugar (for frosting)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough: Warm the milk until lukewarm. Stir in the yeast and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy. Mix flour, sugar, salt, and melted butter in a large bowl. Add the yeast mixture and eggs, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  2. Knead the Dough: Transfer to a floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover with a tea towel, and let rise until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  3. Make the Filling: Combine brown sugar, cinnamon, and softened butter in a bowl until spreadable.
  4. Roll Out the Dough: Punch down the dough and roll into a rectangle. Spread the filling evenly, leaving a border.
  5. Shape the Rolls: Roll the dough tightly, slice into 12-16 pieces, and place in a greased baking dish.
  6. Second Rise: Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Bake: Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown. Avoid over-baking.
  8. Prepare the Frosting: Beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  9. Decorate: Drizzle the frosting over cooled rolls and add spooky decorations if desired.
  10. Serve and Enjoy: Slice the rolls warm and enjoy with family and friends!
