- 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 1/4 cup maple syrup (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan, or line it with parchment paper.
- Cream together the softened unsalted butter and maple syrup until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then incorporate the milk and mix until just combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and spices. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until no visible flour streaks remain.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Once baked, allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once cooled, drizzle the maple glaze over the top for added sweetness.
