Description

Delightful pastries filled with sweet cherries and wrapped in flaky puff pastry, perfect for family gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 package puff pastry (store-bought or homemade)
  • 2 cups fresh cherries, pitted and chopped
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 egg (for egg wash, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, combine cherries, sugar, and cinnamon. Let sit for about 10 minutes.
  3. On a floured surface, roll out puff pastry into a rectangle (1/8 inch thick).
  4. Cut the pastry into 4×4 inch squares and place a spoonful of the cherry mixture in the center of each.
  5. Fold the pastry squares diagonally to form triangles and seal the edges with a fork.
  6. Brush the tops with egg wash for a golden finish.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
  8. Cool slightly and serve warm.

Notes

Best served warm, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
