- 1 lb fresh halibut fillets, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup tempura batter mix
- 1 cup cold sparkling water
- Vegetable oil (for frying)
- Sea salt (for seasoning)
- Optional veggies (sweet potatoes, zucchini, bell peppers)
Instructions
- Pat halibut fillets dry and cut into bite-sized pieces.
- Whisk tempura batter mix with cold sparkling water until smooth.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet to 350°F (175°C).
- Dip halibut pieces in batter and fry in small batches for 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
- Remove and drain on paper towels, sprinkle with sea salt.
- Prepare a dipping sauce with soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame seeds.
- Serve warm with a wedge of lemon or lime.
Notes
