Ingredients

- 2 pounds sirloin or flank steak, cut into 1-inch chunks
- 8 ounces fresh baby bella mushrooms, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar or honey
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 teaspoon fresh thyme, chopped
- 1 teaspoon fresh rosemary, chopped
- Olive oil for sautéing
Instructions
- Prepare the steak by cutting it into bite-sized pieces.
- In a bowl, combine steak with minced garlic, soy sauce, brown sugar, thyme, and rosemary. Marinate for 30 minutes.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil and sauté the mushrooms until golden brown.
- Layer the marinated steak and sautéed mushrooms in the slow cooker. Pour in the beef broth.
- Cook on low for 6-8 hours, or high for 3-4 hours, stirring occasionally if possible.
- Once cooked, serve hot with the sauce from the slow cooker.
Notes
For best results, sear the steak before adding to the slow cooker. Allow the dish to rest for a few minutes before serving.
