Description

Tender steak bites slow-cooked with garlic, mushrooms, and a savory sauce for a delightful family meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds sirloin or flank steak, cut into 1-inch chunks
  • 8 ounces fresh baby bella mushrooms, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar or honey
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon fresh rosemary, chopped
  • Olive oil for sautéing

Instructions

  1. Prepare the steak by cutting it into bite-sized pieces.
  2. In a bowl, combine steak with minced garlic, soy sauce, brown sugar, thyme, and rosemary. Marinate for 30 minutes.
  3. In a skillet, heat olive oil and sauté the mushrooms until golden brown.
  4. Layer the marinated steak and sautéed mushrooms in the slow cooker. Pour in the beef broth.
  5. Cook on low for 6-8 hours, or high for 3-4 hours, stirring occasionally if possible.
  6. Once cooked, serve hot with the sauce from the slow cooker.

Notes

For best results, sear the steak before adding to the slow cooker. Allow the dish to rest for a few minutes before serving.
