Description

Delightful cinnamon rolls infused with chocolate chips and topped with a playful blue icing, perfect for creating happy memories.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour (or whole wheat flour)
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup whole milk (or buttermilk)
  • 2 large eggs (or flaxseed meal with water)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted (or coconut oil)
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Blue food coloring (optional)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast; let it bloom for about 10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, eggs, and melted butter. Gradually add the yeast mixture, mixing until the dough pulls together.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until soft and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 to 1.5 hours until doubled in size.
  5. Turn the risen dough onto a floured surface and shape it into a 16×12-inch rectangle. Spread softened butter, sprinkle cinnamon, and add chocolate chips.
  6. Roll tightly from one long edge and slice into equal pieces.
  7. Place rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise for another 30-45 minutes.
  8. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Prepare blue icing by mixing powdered sugar, milk, vanilla, and food coloring until smooth.
  10. Drizzle icing over warm rolls once out of the oven.

Notes

If the dough is sticky, add a little more flour but avoid overdoing it to prevent dense rolls. Adjust baking time based on your oven’s characteristics.
