Description

A delightful holiday treat that harmonizes sweet and salty flavors, perfect for festive gatherings and creating cherished memories.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup popcorn kernels
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 cup mixed nuts (optional)
  • Festive sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Pop the kernels according to the manufacturer’s instructions in a large pot or popcorn maker.
  2. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat, add sugar and heavy cream, stir continuously until boiling, then simmer for 4-5 minutes until thickened.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and sea salt.
  4. Pour the caramel over the popped popcorn and stir gently to coat.
  5. If using, mix in nuts, sprinkles, or any additional flavorings while the caramel is warm.
  6. Spread the popcorn on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper to cool.
  7. Once cooled, break into pieces and serve in festive bowls.

Notes

For a dairy-free version, substitute butter with coconut oil. Brown sugar can be used for a deeper flavor. Ensure popcorn cools completely to maintain its crunch.
