Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper and grease the edges with butter.
  3. In a medium saucepan, melt butter with granulated sugar, brown sugar, and cocoa powder over low heat.
  4. Once slightly cooled, add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Fold in flour, chocolate chips, and a pinch of salt, mixing until just combined.
  6. Spread the brownie batter evenly in the prepared baking pan.
  7. Drizzle caramel sauce over the batter and swirl with a knife.
  8. Sprinkle chopped nuts on top.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
  10. Cool in the pan for at least 15 minutes before lifting out and slicing into squares.

Notes

For vegan options, substitute eggs with flaxseed meal or applesauce. Use gluten-free flour for a gluten-free version.
