Description

Delightful Christmas Crinkle Cookies with a rich chocolate flavor and a snowy powdered sugar coating, perfect for holiday celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar for rolling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter with granulated sugar until creamy and light (about 2-3 minutes).
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then blend in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually combine the dry ingredients with the wet mixture until fully blended, but do not over-mix.
  6. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  7. Scoop out tablespoon-sized portions of dough, roll into balls, and coat in powdered sugar.
  8. Place on baking sheets and bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are set, and the centers look slightly undercooked.
  9. Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For a lighter option, substitute butter with plant-based butter. You can also add almond or peppermint extract for extra flavor.
