Description

Soft, pillowy chocolate cookies with a delightful powdered sugar crust, perfect for holiday celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for rolling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk flour, cocoa powder, and baking powder; set aside.
  3. In a larger bowl, cream granulated sugar, brown sugar, and softened butter until fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well, then stir in vanilla.
  5. Gradually incorporate dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Chill dough in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  7. Roll dough into balls and coat in powdered sugar.
  8. Place dough balls on prepared baking sheets, 2 inches apart.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are firm and centers are soft.
  10. Cool on sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.

Notes

Ensure to chill the dough to maintain cookie texture. Do not overbake; the centers will firm up as they cool.
