Description
A delicious blend of spiced ground chicken meatballs served with a creamy garlic yogurt sauce that creates a harmonious balance of flavors.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground chicken
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp coriander
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (or gluten-free substitute)
- 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for cooking
- Fresh herbs (parsley or mint) for garnish
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, minced garlic, spices, chopped onion, and breadcrumbs. Season with salt and pepper. Mix until just combined.
- Wet your hands and shape the mixture into small, elongated meatballs or oval-shaped patties.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add a drizzle of olive oil. Cook the kofta in batches for about 3-5 minutes per side until golden and cooked through.
- While the kofta is cooking, mix Greek yogurt with minced garlic, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt. Adjust to taste.
- Serve the kofta on a platter drizzled with garlic yogurt, garnished with fresh herbs. Enjoy with warm pita or salad.
Notes
Ensure the pan is hot for a good sear on the kofta. Let the kofta rest a few minutes before serving to keep them juicy.
