Description
These warm and fluffy donuts are filled with a rich chocolate and creamy peanut butter center, making them a nostalgic and indulgent treat for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
- 1 large egg
- 3/4 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
- Powdered sugar for coating
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 10 minutes until frothy.
- Add in melted butter, eggs, and flour, mixing until the dough comes together. Knead on a floured surface for 5-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place for about an hour or until doubled in size.
- Once ready, punch it down and roll it out to half-inch thickness. Use a donut cutter to cut out shapes.
- For the filling, combine chocolate chips and peanut butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 20-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
- Fill each donut with the chocolate-peanut butter mixture using a piping bag.
- Heat oil in a deep skillet and fry the donuts until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side.
- Toss warm donuts in powdered sugar or glaze with a mixture of powdered sugar and milk. Serve warm.
Notes
For a dairy-free version, use almond milk and coconut oil. For a different flavor, consider peanut butter chips or white chocolate.
