Description

These warm and fluffy donuts are filled with a rich chocolate and creamy peanut butter center, making them a nostalgic and indulgent treat for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1 large egg
  • 3/4 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • Powdered sugar for coating
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add in melted butter, eggs, and flour, mixing until the dough comes together. Knead on a floured surface for 5-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  3. Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place for about an hour or until doubled in size.
  4. Once ready, punch it down and roll it out to half-inch thickness. Use a donut cutter to cut out shapes.
  5. For the filling, combine chocolate chips and peanut butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 20-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  6. Fill each donut with the chocolate-peanut butter mixture using a piping bag.
  7. Heat oil in a deep skillet and fry the donuts until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side.
  8. Toss warm donuts in powdered sugar or glaze with a mixture of powdered sugar and milk. Serve warm.

Notes

For a dairy-free version, use almond milk and coconut oil. For a different flavor, consider peanut butter chips or white chocolate.
