Description

A delightful dish of roasted pears topped with creamy goat cheese, crunchy walnuts, and a warm drizzle of maple syrup.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 ripe pears (Bosc or Bartlett)
  • 4 oz soft goat cheese
  • ½ cup walnuts, toasted
  • ¼ cup pure maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp butter or olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh thyme or rosemary (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Wash and halve the pears, removing the core.
  3. In a bowl, toss the halved pears with melted butter or olive oil, then sprinkle with salt, pepper, and herbs if desired.
  4. Arrange pears cut side up on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and roast for 25–30 minutes until tender and golden brown.
  5. Meanwhile, toast the walnuts in a dry skillet over medium heat for 5–7 minutes, stirring frequently.
  6. Once the pears are done, crumble goat cheese on top of each pear half while warm.
  7. Drizzle maple syrup over the pears and top with toasted walnuts.
  8. Serve warm as an appetizer, side, or dessert.

Notes

For a vegan alternative, substitute goat cheese with a plant-based cheese and use agave syrup instead of maple syrup.
