Description
A delightful dish of roasted pears topped with creamy goat cheese, crunchy walnuts, and a warm drizzle of maple syrup.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 ripe pears (Bosc or Bartlett)
- 4 oz soft goat cheese
- ½ cup walnuts, toasted
- ¼ cup pure maple syrup
- 2 tbsp butter or olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh thyme or rosemary (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Wash and halve the pears, removing the core.
- In a bowl, toss the halved pears with melted butter or olive oil, then sprinkle with salt, pepper, and herbs if desired.
- Arrange pears cut side up on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and roast for 25–30 minutes until tender and golden brown.
- Meanwhile, toast the walnuts in a dry skillet over medium heat for 5–7 minutes, stirring frequently.
- Once the pears are done, crumble goat cheese on top of each pear half while warm.
- Drizzle maple syrup over the pears and top with toasted walnuts.
- Serve warm as an appetizer, side, or dessert.
Notes
For a vegan alternative, substitute goat cheese with a plant-based cheese and use agave syrup instead of maple syrup.
