Description
A festive cocktail combining tart cranberries, zesty lime, and earthy herbs, perfect for holiday gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup fresh cranberries
- 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lime juice
- 1/2 cup orange liqueur (Cointreau or Triple Sec)
- 1 cup good-quality blanco or reposado tequila
- Fresh sage or rosemary
- Simple syrup to taste
- Salt or sugar for rimming glasses
Instructions
- Prepare the Simple Syrup: Combine equal parts water and sugar in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the sugar completely dissolves. Remove from heat and allow to cool.
- Make the Cranberry Mixture: Blend fresh cranberries with water until smooth. Strain through a fine mesh sieve to remove solids.
- Combine Ingredients: In a shaker, mix the cranberry juice, lime juice, orange liqueur, tequila, and simple syrup. Add fresh herbs and muddle gently.
- Prepare Your Glasses: Rim glasses with lime juice, then dip them in sugar or salt.
- Shake It Up: Fill your shaker with ice, cover, and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds.
- Serve: Strain the mixture into prepared glasses filled with ice. Garnish with fresh cranberries and a sprig of herbs.
Notes
Always use fresh ingredients for the best flavor. Mix margaritas just before serving for optimum freshness. Over-muddling herbs can lead to bitterness.
