Ingredients

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ⅓ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together oats, brown sugar, flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Cream softened butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  5. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until fully combined.
  6. Gradually incorporate the dry mixture into the wet mixture and fold in chocolate chips.
  7. Scoop dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing about two inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set but centers are soft.
  9. Cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
