A playful and delicious appetizer combining savory salami and creamy mozzarella, perfect for gatherings.
Ingredients

- 8 oz salami, sliced
- 8 oz mozzarella balls
- 2 tbsp fresh basil, chopped
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- Black olives, sliced (for pupils)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Balsamic vinegar (optional)
Instructions
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and add sliced salami, sautéing until crispy (4–5 minutes).
- If using mozzarella blocks, cut them into bite-sized cubes, otherwise leave mozzarella balls whole.
- In a bowl, combine the sautéed salami with minced garlic and chopped herbs.
- Take a piece of the salami mixture and wrap it around each mozzarella ball.
- Arrange on a platter and secure with a toothpick if needed. Add a slice of black olive on top as the “pupil”.
- Drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle with salt, and optionally add balsamic vinegar before serving.
- Serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
Best enjoyed fresh, but can last in the fridge for a day or two in an airtight container.
