Description

A comforting dish of mashed sweet potatoes infused with spices and a hint of sweetness.


Ingredients

  • 4 medium sweet potatoes
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (or olive oil for vegan)
  • 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (or crushed red pepper flakes)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh herbs (cilantro or parsley) for garnish

Instructions

  1. Peeled and cut sweet potatoes into uniform chunks.
  2. Boil in a large pot of water for about 15-20 minutes until fork-tender.
  3. Drain the potatoes and return to the pot over low heat to evaporate moisture.
  4. Add butter or olive oil, minced garlic, maple syrup, and spices. Mash until creamy but still slightly chunky.
  5. Taste and adjust sweetness or heat as desired.
  6. Transfer to a serving dish and garnish with fresh herbs and a drizzle of olive oil or maple syrup.
  7. Serve warm and enjoy!
