  • 8 oz dark chocolate
  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • Powdered sugar for dusting
  • Ground cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry to about 1/8 inch thick and cut into rectangles.
  3. Prick the surface of the pastry rectangles with a fork.
  4. Blind bake the rectangles for about 15 minutes, or until golden and puffed.
  5. Slice the ripe bananas and caramelize them in a skillet with melted butter and brown sugar for 2-3 minutes on each side.
  6. Melt the chocolate in a double boiler or microwave until smooth.
  7. Layer the napoleons by spreading melted chocolate on a pastry rectangle, adding caramelized bananas, and topping with another rectangle. Repeat for two layers.

  9. Slice into portions and serve warm.

Notes

Feel free to customize with nuts or a drizzle of caramel. Make sure the pastry is golden before removing it from the oven.
