- 2 salmon fillets
- 3 tablespoons sesame seeds
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (or sesame oil)
- 1 green onion, chopped (optional)
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- Fresh herbs (cilantro or parsley, for garnish, optional)
Instructions
- Pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
- In a small bowl, combine sesame seeds, soy sauce, minced garlic, and oil; stir until mixed.
- Spread the sesame mixture generously over the salmon fillets.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add a tablespoon of oil.
- Once the oil is shimmering, place the salmon fillets in the skillet, skin-side down if applicable. Sear for 4-5 minutes.
- Flip the fillets and sear for another 3-4 minutes until cooked through and flaky.
- Remove from heat and let rest for a minute. Garnish with green onions and herbs.
Notes
Serve with a fresh salad or steamed rice for a complete meal. A squeeze of lemon can enhance the dish’s flavor.
