- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup seasoned panko breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Vegetable oil for frying or olive oil for baking
Instructions
- Marinate the chicken in buttermilk mixed with salt, pepper, and spices for at least 30 minutes.
- In another bowl, mix breadcrumbs with additional spices and cornstarch.
- Whisk together the eggs in a separate bowl to create an egg wash.
- Coat each chicken piece by dipping it into the egg wash, then into the breadcrumb mixture.
- For frying, heat the oil in a deep pan over medium-high heat. Fry nuggets for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- For baking, preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- Let the nuggets rest on a paper towel, then serve with your favorite dipping sauces.
