Ingredients

- 1 cup drained tuna
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup cold butter
- 1 finely chopped onion
- 2 minced garlic cloves
- ½ cup chopped bell pepper
- Fresh lemon or lime juice
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Egg wash (for brushing)
- Oil (for frying)
Instructions
- Prepare the Dough: Mix flour with cold butter and gradually add ice water until a dough forms. Chill for 30 minutes.
- Make the Filling: Sauté onion and garlic until translucent. Add tuna, bell pepper, lime juice, salt, and pepper; cook until combined. Allow to cool.
- Assemble the Empanadas: Roll out the dough, cut circles, fill, fold over, and crimp edges to seal.
- Bake or Fry: Preheat oven to 375°F and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden, or fry until crispy.
- Enjoy: Let cool slightly and serve with dipping sauces.
