Ingredients

- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 finely chopped onion
- 2 minced garlic cloves
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs or oats
- 1 beaten egg
- Ketchup (for topping)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Dried herbs (thyme or oregano) to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Sauté the finely chopped onion and minced garlic in olive oil until soft and fragrant.
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, sautéed onion and garlic, breadcrumbs or oats, beaten egg, and seasonings; mix until just combined.
- Grease a muffin tin or line with parchment cups.
- Scoop the meat mixture into each cup, filling about three-quarters full.
- Top each cup with a spoonful of ketchup, spreading evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until cooked through with an internal temp of 160°F (70°C).
- Let cool for a few minutes before removing from tin and serve warm.
Notes
Ensure not to overmix the meat to maintain tenderness and allow resting time for easier removal from the muffin tin.
