Description

A delightful pastry filled with a medley of fresh berries, perfectly balanced between sweet and tart, wrapped in flaky, buttery pastry.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package puff pastry (preferably all-butter)
  • 2 cups fresh berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the berries, sugar, cornstarch, and lemon juice. Toss gently to coat.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick.
  4. Cut the pastry into squares or keep it as a rectangle for a larger tart.
  5. Add a generous scoop of the berry mixture to the center of each piece, leaving space for sealing.
  6. Seal the pastry by folding it over for turnovers or slicing slits on the top for a tart.
  7. Brush with an egg wash for a golden finish.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes until puffed and golden-brown.
  9. Allow to cool slightly before serving, optionally garnished with powdered sugar or a drizzle of cream.

Notes

Keep ingredients chilled for flakiness. Avoid overfilling the pastry to prevent sogginess.
