Description
A refreshing and buttery side dish featuring green beans or asparagus, garlic, and a touch of lemon zest and Parmesan cheese.
Ingredients

- Fresh green beans or asparagus
- 2–3 cloves of garlic, finely minced
- Juice and zest of 1 lemon
- 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Rinse and trim the fresh veggies. Mince the garlic and zest the lemon.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the green beans or asparagus and sauté for 5-7 minutes until tender but still crunchy.
- Add the minced garlic and sauté for an additional minute. Then add the lemon juice and zest.
- Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve immediately, optionally garnished with more lemon zest or fresh herbs.
Notes
For varied flavors, try adding fresh herbs or a knob of butter towards the end of cooking for richness. Avoid using pre-grated cheese for the best results.
